Our vision in the Whittlewood Parishes is to know God better, love others and reach out with the good news of Jesus.
Whittlewood Parishes - Sunday Worship 9th August
Thank you to everyone who continues to participate in our worship together every Sunday and for your feedback.
This Sundays service will be live streamed from Slapton Church at 10.00, this will be our first Eucharist service since the relaxation of the lockdown. There is very limited capacity for people to actually attend the service along with the Vicar. If you wish to attend please contact the Church Warden at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place. You will NOT be admitted without prior booking as severe restrictions still apply. Priority will be given to Slapton parishioners.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT FACE COVERINGS MUST BE WORN INSIDE THE CHURCH BUILDING.
You can continue to follow the service on Zoom using the usual link or phone connections shown below.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance within the Whittlewood Parishes
Although the Government has stated that Churches may reopen to the public from 4th July there are still strict limits to the number of people that can attend - This is very much dependant on the capacity of each Church building and not just a blanket 30 people. With the 2 meter social distancing measures many of the buildings within our Benefice will be able to hold less than 20 people. Along with this there are regulations to follow around the cleaning of the buildings, the flow of people going in and out of each Church and what can and can’t be touched once in Church.
As from 12th July within the Whittlewood Benefice we are intending to start services within the actual Churches for a very limited number of people, the places have to be booked in advance to ensure compliance with the above. As numbers will remain limited for the foreseeable future the services will continue to be live streamed via Zoom and recorded for the Benefice Facebook and YouTube pages. Due to the use of the Internet we can only stream from Churches that have internet access so not all of them can be used.
Initially the services will follow the format we have been using on Zoom over the last few months and will be restricted to approximately 40 minutes.
In the Whittlewood Benefice we are committed to Safeguarding Children, Young People, Victime / Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse and Vunerable Adults. The PCC has adopted the Church of England's policies and best practice on safeguarding which can be found via this link on the Church of England Website
